Windsor, May 6, 2009
On May 6, 2009, Canada’s Minister of Transport John Baird was the keynote speaker at HUB ’09 International Multimodal conference in Windsor, Ontario. In his address, the Minister spoke of the importance of the Windsor-Detroit Trade Corridor to the economies of both Canada and the United States and how the new Detroit River International Crossing (DRIC) is essential to 21st century trade needs. Ontario, April, 2009
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation announced in April 2009 a pilot program to allow a limited number of commercial operators to pull two full-sized trailers on designated Ontario highways. Known as Long Combination Vehicles (LCV), these vehicles transport light, bulky goods more safely, more economically, with less greenhouse gas emissions for a certain volume of goods.
